Tonga June 2025

A Transformative Journey

The Tonga Expedition took place from June 7–21, 2025, as a two-week immersion experience across the islands of the Kingdom of Tonga. Young adults from all backgrounds came together to learn, serve, and reconnect with their heritage in meaningful ways. Along the way, they gained deeper faith, a stronger sense of identity, and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Why we went?

Our 4 Pillars

  • Cultural

We believe that understanding your roots is crucial to your identity.

When youth reconnect with their culture—through language, traditions, food, and stories—they gain a deeper sense of belonging and strength. Cultural knowledge becomes a foundation they can stand on as they move forward in life.

  • Spiritual

We believe that true transformation begins with a connection to God.

Our experiences are centered on faith, helping youth strengthen their relationship with Christ, feel the Spirit in new ways, and discover their divine purpose. Spiritual grounding empowers them to lead with light wherever they go.

  • Service

We believe that the best way to find yourself is by losing yourself in the service of others.

Through meaningful, hands-on service, youth learn empathy, humility, and leadership. They see that no act is too small to make a difference—and that giving back is a powerful way to move forward.

  • Intellectual

We believe that knowledge is power.

When young people are taught how to think critically, manage resources wisely, and make informed decisions, they gain the tools to break cycles, build strong foundations, and lead lives of intention. Intellectual growth isn't just about learning—it's about preparing to thrive.

“This experience has blessed me and shown me just how big the world really is. Coming from Utah and traveling to Tonga, I’ve realized there’s so much more to life than what I was used to. […] To anyone wondering, “Is this right for me?” or “How will I afford it?”—I invite you to do it. Come to Tonga. Be part of this foundation. It has truly changed my life.”

“Through this program [Zion Foundation], they encourage youth to prepare for missions, embrace their cultural identity, and cultivate personal growth. I’m so grateful for the work that the Zion Foundation is doing here, and the youth they have brought. It’s a great program […]Hoorah for Israel!”

I invite you to allow your children to come and participate, because I know that these boys have learned two important things: not only the culture they identify with, but also the culture of Christ. We have built a strong bond.”

“This trip has been life changing because I got to see how people are grateful for the little things. When I go back I plan on being grateful for everything instead of being picky about the food I eat or clothes I wear. Just wear whatever. Eat whatever. ”
